Francesca Oliveri was bom in Mondovì, where she started her singing studies. Attending Giorgio Gaslini's courses, Francesca decided to definitively take up the blues, spiritual and jazz repertori. She has also studied vocal technique with Gabriella Ravazzi and classical piano with Maria Consolata Guaglino. Moreover, Francesca has followed specialising courses with Betty Carter and Mark Murphy.

Her career can include collaborations with top-rank jazz musicians, such as Steve Lacy, Enrico Pieranunzi, Tony Scott, Mal Waldron, and, in 1985, she has performed as opening act of Ray Charles's concert in Turin. Francesca has been part of various vocal ensembles, fike Ars Musica and Cantus Firmus vocal 8et, both directed by Roberto Beccaria. Her versatility has led her to often perform in the classical music circuit, accompaníed by pianist Annibale Rebaudengo.
She regularly performs with pianist Luigi Bonafede (as a duo or with his trio), presenting a wide blues and jazz repertori, and is founder and lead vocalist of The Deep River Choir, with which she presents a flill Gospel and Spirituals program. Francesca has also collaborateci with singer Elena Roggero for the "Send in the Clowns" project: a theatre show and a CD, which won her the "Cetra" Award in 1998.

Singer, pianist, arranger and choir conductor, Francesca has taken part, as Italian representative, in various intemational festivals such as the Padova Festival with Dorothy Cox and Sarah Jane Morris.
She is also a renowned teacher: she has carried on her educational activity in several schools, such as the Turin Jazz Center, the C.P.M. school in Milan, Milan City Jazz Courses (directed by Enrico Intra and Franco Cerri) and Spazio Musica specialising courses directed by G.Ravazzi. She currently runs courses on vocal technique, voice use and elocution; she has followed the technical and musical preparation of the "Gospel Project Choir" (Palenno), founded in 1994 in collaboration with choirmaster Piero Marchese.
Francesca also collaborates with renowned Italian pop artists as bac vocalist and vocal trainer; in May 2000 she has perforrned with Alberto Fortis for the "Yes for Europe" intemational show.
